Founded by Patrick Penha, Atelier Penha was born in 2020 from a quiet and persistent fascination with material, surface and form. What began in a modest garage quickly grew into a studio where material, technique and intuition come together. One year later, in 2021, sebastian. Penha joined the journey, bringing new energy, precision and vision.
Through years of experimentation, dedication and refinement, the focus naturally shifted toward the most exceptional microcement systems. The choice for original Mortex® was deliberate. A material defined by depth, texture and character. Its unique structure allows surfaces to feel alive, shaped slowly by hand and guided by experience rather than machinery.
As the studio grew, so did the ambition. What started with sculptural tables evolved into a wider universe of crafted objects. Tables, mirrors, lighting and architectural elements, all created with the same philosophy: restraint, precision and permanence. Always handmade. Always in Belgium.
Over time, Atelier Penha became a reference atelier for architects, interior professionals and retail partners. Today, Atelier Penha operates exclusively B2B, producing bespoke pieces, white-label and private-label collections for professionals who value transparency, craftsmanship and control over every detail.
From that foundation, sebastian. was born.

sebastian. is the direct translation of our atelier’s knowledge into a design brand. A way to bring our work closer to people, without compromising the values it was built on. Unlike traditional made-to-order models, sebastian. focuses on in-stock design, immediate availability and a clear, honest relationship with the object.
sebastian. is not separate from Atelier Penha. Every piece is still designed, produced and finished in the same Belgian atelier, by the same hands. The difference lies in intention: sebastian. exists to make our tables and objects accessible, tangible and flexible, both in ownership and in use.
This philosophy also led to the creation of sebastian. Table Lease. A model that reflects how people live today. Design without pressure. Quality without forced commitment. A system built on durability, repairability and circular thinking, allowing our objects to remain in use, in circulation and in care.
